Construction is in full swing

09 February 2015 22:44

Thanks to the wonderful support of all donors the construction is now in full swing!

All key parts have been delivered. Volunteers from the Werkgroep Leidse Sterrewacht and engineers from the Leidse Instrumentenmakers School have worked out the last details of the design.

The images show detailed drawings of the dome (containing the heliostaat) and the solar telescoop which will be situated in the visitor center. The size of the dome is about 0.85m x 1.35m x 1m. The solar telescoop is roughly 2.5m in length and will stand upright (reaching from floor to ceiling).

Almost 80% of our target has been donated. You can see the many wonderful comments on

Now let's raise the final 20%. Help us to our goal!
